I just beat Mike Sharpe and he was anything but. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Slick does not speak for all black men here in Mid-South and he certainly doesn’t speak for the Big Cat. Slick says he doesn’t want black on black violence, but he’s going to get some at Superdome Extravaganza.”
------------------------------------
We go back to the ring where a table has been set-up for the contract signing between Jake Roberts and Ronnie Garvin for their Mid-South Television Title bout at Superdome Extravaganza.
Jake Roberts speaks. “I know a contract signing like this is unusual, but I wanted to give you one last chance, Ronnie Garvin, to look me in the eye, see what a real champion looks like and realize the ultimate mistake you almost made in facing me for the Mid-South Television Title at Superdome Extravaganza. This is your last chance to back out, let’s see if you’re smart enough to take it. Because when you step into a ring with me, it’s not a ring, it’s a snake pit.” Roberts signs the contract.
Garvin looks Jake right in the eyes as he says, “I’ve never backed down from a fight ever in my life, Jake Roberts. And I’m not going to do it now. You say I’m stepping into a snake pit with you. Well, maybe you’re really stepping into a quarry with the man with the hands of stone.” Ronnie shows his fist to Jake, then bends over to sign the contract at the table.
